To me it feels like this part of the story is all togetherness and separation, proximity and distance. Jung Jong would be freed to live with his wife, but he wants to die with the other conspirators. He has his heart set on this. Sin Myeon doesn't understand why they all don't flee, and they can't explain it to him.

I clearly don't have enough unfinished shows on my plate, so I've added the Taiwan drama Black & White. I'm enjoying this so far, for a number of reasons. Okay, Mark Chao is one of those reasons, but the characters and story are really pulling me in. I have no idea what's going on, and I want to.

Show has a bit of everything, doesn't it? Romance, political intrigue, lovely costumes, ship and island adventure, and of course, murder. But there's always room for a bit of masked vigilante. I think what I love about this show is not that it's perfect (it's not), but that it does most things beautifully and keeps me in the story, feeling the characters and their moments. I'm able to ignore anything that doesn't work for me because the things that do work hold me tightly so I can't look away. At least so far.

I take back anything negative I said about Prince Consort Jung Jong at first. As all of their allies are killed, and the situation grows ever bleaker, he never stops trying to reassure Princess Kyung-Hye. What stays with me the most is Se-Ryung's persistence. She never gives up, even though she has very little power to change anything happening in her world.
